Basic information

A resolver is an electromagnetic transducer, which converts the angular position of a rotor into a electrical value.

Applications

Measuring the angular position of electric motors in:

General function

Two 90° phased stator windings are arranged in a cylindrical housing, that enclose a rotor together with the rotor winding which are mounted in a housing. These rotor winding inductively couples a signal into the stator winding. The phase position of this signal is a measure of the angular position of the rotor.
