Level sensor

For level monitoring

Basic information

The type NW1, electronic liquid level probe, is available with various housings and connections and is suitable for monitoring liquid levels in most types of container. The device signals critical situations and produces a status message.

Applications

The electronic level probe is used where liquid levels must be maintained within specific parameters. Minimum and/or maximum levels may be monitored in the following applications:

  • containers of all types
  • laboratories
  • filter systems
  • purification plants

General function

The electronic level probe works according to the calorimetric principle. It detects the liquid and sends an equivalent electric signal. The heated sensor is cooled down by the ambient medium. Thus a change of current is generated in the semi-conductor sensor. This change is analysed by electronic devices which energise a relay. If the level drops below the the required minimum level, the relay drops out. A relay change-over contact and an additional light emitting diode signals this situation.

Advantages

  • compact package
  • 24VDC feed-in
  • extremely cost effective
  • self-sealing NPTF-thread
  • adjustable responsivity
